MBACP, ACC, MNCS (Acc), BA (Hons), Dip Counselling
It was towards the end of a career supporting disabled students that I decided to train as a counsellor to offer a different kind of service to others. I chose the integrative course at CWR Waverley because it incorporated elements of psychodynamic, CBT and person-centred therapy within a structure that was based on Christian values. I completed the CWR Diploma in 2010. I also work at another charitable counselling organisation in Kent.
Continuing training has deepened my knowledge of different approaches and given me a fuller appreciation of issues such as depression, anxiety, anger, sexual abuse, bereavement, and trauma. I have an interest in creative writing, and I am open to using this and other creative methods if appropriate.
I value each person's unique experiences, preferred pathway, and inner resources. I want to be alongside my clients, offering a toolkit of different approaches where appropriate, as they discover their own way forward towards healing and greater fulfilment. I am on the Accredited Voluntary Register held by the National Counselling Society.
