MBACP, (Accred.), Dip.Counselling, Dip. The Therapeutic Application of the Arts, Cert. Advanced TA Psychotherapy
I am an Accredited Counsellor and a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I have a diploma in Pastoral Counselling and Integrative Arts Psychotherapy as well as a certificate in Advanced Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy.
I have 12 years experience of working with a variety of presenting problems including physical, sexual and emotional abuse, self-harm and suicide, panic attacks, trauma, bereavement and loss, depression, bi-polar and borderline disorders, identity, life stages, relationship issues and eating disorders.
Integral to my practice is an emphasis on the therapeutic relationship. I believe we are both harmed and healed in relationship and that the psychotherapeutic relationship is one arena where understanding, reparation and healing may occur.
I use a narrative approach within counselling which embodies the key concepts of Transactional Analysis. I also invite clients to use the arts through a range of media. Through the arts a fuller and deeper connection may be made with a feeling or experience and this can support a deeper understanding and comprehension of a client’s story.
